God’s Silence
Habakuk 1:5 Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously: for I will work a work in your days which ye will not believe, though it be told you.
God’s silence is powerful. Think of the instance in in John 8 where people brought a woman caught in adultery to be judged . And when people were shouting and accusing this woman. They wanted Jesus to judge her, so that they may stone her to death as per the law of Moses. In the middle of all this chaos Jesus stood up and wrote on the ground as if He has not heard the men as mentioned in John 8:6. Rest we all know the story how all the men left and on the woman received forgiveness from her sins. The most outstanding aspect of this story was the Lord’s silence in the middle of all chaos and commotion. Think of the woman who was caught and brought to be judged. She might be expecting big words of judgement on her but on the contrary she received the blessed silence.
